In the past the teachers had not too many ways of transferring knowledge like today. Some of us still long for those times when teacher was a person with certain authority and strenght. Everything was simple and straight forward. The old fashion way of teacher talking and students listen, make notes and process lecture at their home is missed by older generations.
At that time teaching as a trade was way much respected than today. Maybe even because it was much harder to become teacher at that time than today.
Present methods of teaching differ from old ones in a modern and technological way. Multimedia presentations, videos, networked computers improve the way students are presented with the lectures. New approach toward the student are being developed and educational system evolves more and more.
But the reality is harsh!
Even with the best technologies and the best methods the true responsibility is on the teacher to relay the message to student.
The teacher was and always will be the first and most important pillar of education system.
